THREE LEED PROJECTS REGISTERED WITH THE U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

8/15/2008 Akron, Ohio – Braun and Steidl Architects has three registered LEED projects with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Both the new Student Center and Parker Hannifin Hall & Administration Center at Cleveland State University are designed to achieve Silver LEED status. Parker Hannifan Hall & Administration Center is being submitted for certification in summer 2008. The Student Center is planned for completion in June of 2010.

Braun & Steidl Architects believes in the USGBC's core purpose of "enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life." Sustainable design practices are a standard operation within our firm. LEED accredited professionals are part of our staff and we strive to use sustainable methodologies in all of our projects.

Awards

With a tradition of excellence in the practice of architecture, Braun & Steidl Architects has been recognized and presented with many design awards over the past 25 years. In 1998, our firm received the State of Ohio's highest architectural honor, the AIA OHIO GOLD MEDAL FIRM AWARD. This honor was awarded in recognition of the most distinguished service and highest quality exemplified by a firm in the practice of architecture.

Continuing in this tradition of excellence, Braun & Steidl Architects' exemplary activity in the field of architecture is evident in the many organizations in which our principals and staff hold positions of leadership. In 2005 Doug Steidl, FAIA, served as the national president of The American Institute of Architects, and in 2007, Chas Schreckenberger, AIA, served as president of AIA Ohio.
